Post #6- Hair Accesories and Jewelry

Keeping jewelry in a box can get cluttered, keeping hair accessories in a box/bag can bend them all out of shape. Instead, display your accessories, after all they "accessorize" for a REASON. If you have hair clips, clip them onto curtains, necklaces/bracelets can be displayed on a cork board, hanging off a pushpin or on walls hanging from nails. Up to you! Check out the examples below. 

 You can achieve a garden effect if you've got flower hair clips like me!

Hang jewelry/headbands all over your cork board, who wants to display boring pieces of paper anyway? If you can hang them on the wall, this looks nice as well, as long as you can patch up the holes afterwards! Again, you can hang earrings from here too.

Post #5- Branches and Wine bottles

 A sexy combo for college dorm rooms: instead of flowers in a vase, buy a cheap wine (drink) then use the empty bottle to display a fancy array of sticks or faux- flowers. This will instantly attract the eye, and is pleasing to gaze upon! I bought this stick/flower meadley at my local 99 pents store.. aka an American dollar store. If you can't find this at the dollar store, which I doubt, you can collect some nice looking sticks from the ground and achieve a similar affect.

I used the leftover sticks in my shot glass arrangement with water beads/ umbrella

I used the hemp string which wrapped the original meadley of sticks to tie bows around the margarita bottle!

Post #4 Organized Chaos

Shelving units can become easily cluttered, or can look dull if you simply line all your books next to each other. To achieve the effect I like to call "organized chaos" you need to mix things up a bit. For instance you should not have all books on one shelf, you should have a mix of books (going both vertically and horizontally) candles, lotions, pictures (to make it homey!), perfumes, and other different size and shaped objects. Check out my shelving units and you will understand this idea. The point of this is to keep your items tidy, but in a way that looks.. well simply put like organized chaos.

Post #3 Umbrellas.

Any party store is sure to carry the cute little umbrellas we know from the edge of a cocktail glass. But why not use these little guys to decorate? I know I do. They are uber cheap, uber light (for packing) and they will bring the color and life that awful pale dorm walls lack. They have many uses, be creative! I like to tie a bunch on a string and strew them across my ceiling, I also use them to hang earrings, after having poked them into my cork-board. I used one further, with my waterbeads that you read about in post #2 just to give the glass a little extra touch. Check out their uses, and come up with your own :)

 Just by poking the end of the stick into the cork board, you can achieve this look. Hang light earrings on the picks for extra jewelry storage!

Post #2 Waterbeads

These funky little beads soaked over nights turn in beautiful marble/crystal-like balls that make gorgeous decorations and are seriously fun to play with, and can also release stress. Fill a vase or fish bowl (without the fish) with them and they fancy anything up. Pick up a handful and play. I personally think it looks nice to mix two colors,  pictured below . Post #1- a reason for inspiration

Hello my dear blog followers. As a student now in my last year of college, I have lived in many different spaces. Most spaces for college students are crammed, small and boring. The dorm I am currently residing in here in London, is probably the smallest space I have ever lived in, but instead of letting it get me down, I decided to warm up my space, utilize every inch of it, and create a living area that I look forward to coming home to! Then I thought- even better, let me blog about my ideas because I know many of you are in the same exact situation. But believe me as long as there is creativity, there is hope!
